GoGoVerde is an online service that encourages Members to share information, skills, and stuff within a local, trusted community. Our local communities and neighborhoods are a wealth of resources, from the amazing know-how of our neighbors to the piles of stuff gathering dust in our closets, garages and attics.

These guidelines are intended to help GoGoVerde communities be a great place to share information and stuff. GoGoVerde promotes communities where members can feel welcome and safe, and not be subjected to personal attacks or disrespectful behavior.

The GoGoVerde team will do its best to enforce these guidelines, assist members with any questions, and provide a safe place to connect and share with neighbors.

Basic Rules of Conduct

The most important rule on GoGoVerde is to be polite, kind, and respectful to all members of a community and generous in your interpretation of other members’ behavior. We encourage you to see the best in each other. If we all do this, GoGoVerde communities will become vibrant, helpful, and resourceful communities. Basic rules of conduct within a community are:

  • Be respectful of others.
  • Don't harass, personally attack, threaten, or gang up on others.
  • Don't use slurs, stereotyping, or hate speech.
  • Keep your posts family friendly (rated PG).
  • Debate constructively. Controversial topics and debate are great, but be prepared for others to sometimes disagree with you and your ideas.
  • Use the privacy and security settings in your member profile to control the privacy and security of your GoGoVerde experience.
  • Don't post something just to inflame or annoy others.
  • Don't post nude photographs or images of abortion or depictions of violence.
  • If you don't own the copyright for the image or content, don't post it.
  • Don't share your personal information with someone unless you are absolutely certain it is safe to share with that person.
  • Don't share anyone else's personal information without his or her permission.
  • Don't create multiple accounts. If you need a second account to run your community, please contact the GoGoVerde Team.
  • Help us keep GoGoVerde orderly by reporting any problems you see on the site including posts that break these rules and anyone you suspect does not belong on GoGoVerde.
  • Don't do anything criminal or illegal on GoGoVerde or encourage anyone else to do so.
  • Review the list of prohibited items before posting anything.

Guidelines for Sharing Stuff

Tent
  • Be truthful and honest in all dealings. Let people know the true condition of any item you are renting, lending, selling, or giving away. Think about what you would want to know if you were on the other side of the transaction. If you borrow and damage something, let the owner know and offer to compensate.
  • Only share things you can afford to lose or have broken. If you will be heartbroken if an item is not returned or returned damaged in some way, do not offer to share the item.
  • Charge something for most things you share. People get tired of lending stuff for free and they stop doing it. Do yourself and everyone a favor, charge a decent fee for your stuff or services so that you want to continue sharing over and over again.
  • Be respectful of each other’s time. Show up on time, return stuff on time.

Creating a Community

  • Communities can be created by anyone who is a member of GoGoVerde.
  • Communities are run by members, not GoGoVerde.

Community Host and Moderator Responsibilities

  • Enforce the mandatory GoGoVerde Basic Rules of Conduct.
  • Create their own Community Guidelines for the community, as desired.
  • Remove any posts, comments, and members from their group that violate the Basic Rules of Conduct and their Community Guidelines.
  • Decide whether the group should be public or private.
  • Follow the Community Host and Moderator Conduct (below).
  • Contact GoGoVerde support if assistance is needed with any situation in a community.

Community Host and Moderator Conduct

  • Check in on your group regularly.
  • Apply the rules of your group fairly and without bias.
  • Respond to member inquiries, including abuse reports and applications.
  • Elevate any serious issues to GoGoVerde support.
  • Assign moderators to help with the running of the group.
  • Do not discriminate based on religion, sexual orientation, race, national origin, disability or age.
  • If you are no longer accepting new members to your group, post this clearly in the description of your group.
  • Post any updates to your community guidelines so that new and existing members are aware of them.

If you are unable to follow these responsibilities, please assign a new owner or contact GoGoVerde support and we will assist you.

The GoGoVerde team reserves the right to remove a community or replace a community host if it believes that these Community Guidelines are not being enforced.

Community Members Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself with the GoGoVerde Basic Rules of Conduct and the Community Guidelines for the individual community prior to joining the community. If you aren't comfortable with what is discussed and shared in the community, you should not join the community.
  • Report any potential violations of the guidelines to the Community Host.

GoGoVerde’s Responsibilities

The GoGoVerde team will not look at every post, photo, or comment made on the site nor do we guarantee the integrity of every member on the site. When you are in a community and click the "Inappropriate?" link, your report goes to the Community Moderators for that community. When you are anywhere else on GoGoVerde, click the Support link to report your concerns to the GoGoVerde Team.

When you report something to us that you believe violates these Guidelines or the GoGoVerde Terms of Service, we will do our best to review it and take appropriate action. For privacy reasons, we often will not be able to share the action that we have taken, but we take all reports seriously, and take appropriate actions when necessary. While we listen to our members, we have the final say on whether content or conduct is permissible under these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

We reserve the right to remove any posting or member that we believe to be in violation of these Guidelines or the GoGoVerde Terms of Service or for any other reason.
