August 22nd, 2010: GoGoVerde Update
We are happy to announce that GoGoVerde was updated today to support attaching photos to postings. We now:
- Allow members to attach photos to postings.
- Allow copying events to make it easier to post repeating events.
- Show pending invitations on the invite sponsor page.
- Allow canceling pending invitations.
- Show more useful information on the daily digest email.
- Mark dates on the community calendar that have events, pickups, or returns scheduled.
- Enable Google to search community overview and membership criteria.
July 5th, 2010: GoGoVerde Update
We are pleased to announce that GoGoVerde was updated today to support quick polls and Facebook Connect. We now:
- Allow new and deactivated members to contact the host and moderators of a community from the GoGoVerde home page.
- Allow creating quick polls to get answers from other members.
- Show pending invitations on the invite member page.
- No longer support questions. Use talk instead to ask questions or post a request.
- Support Facebook Connect which allows you to use GoGoVerde with your Facebook email address and password.
- Allow to use an easy to remember website addresses for your community, such as gogoverde.com/MyCommunity.
- Send out reminders for upcoming events as part of the daily digest email to reduce the number of emails sent.
April 3rd, 2010: GoGoVerde Update
We are pleased to announce that GoGoVerde was updated today to support community sponsorship. We now:
- Allow businesses to sponsor communities where a portion of the sponsorship money goes straight to the community.
- Show warning and error messages as dialog boxes.
- Include links in all emails that allow users to change their email notification preferences.
- Send daily digest emails as HTML.
- Changed the default for new communities to No Approval.
- Prune inactive communities after 90 days.
- Added a new politics category.
- Enable deactivating your membership from the profile view.
August 21st, 2009: GoGoVerde Update
We are happy to announce that GoGoVerde was updated today with a number of usability improvements based on suggestions from our Beta communities. We now:
- Allow community hosts to remove their community.
- Added a tool tip to explain community and climate points.
- Added a news page.
- Removed optional fields from the join pages to make it easier and quicker to join.
- Collapsed the Join and Sign In fields into one.
- We moved the security question fields to the password section on the profile page.
- Added the ZIP code to the community list.
- No longer require invited members to verify their email address.
- Improved our email templates to make it easier to see what's going on in your community.
- Added the ability to search for communities in your neighborhood.
- Show a tool tip to tell you important information about a community before you join.
- Added a community guide to assist community hosts in starting a community.
June 23rd, 2009: GoGoVerde Selected Semifinalist in the Clean Tech Open Competition
We are proud to announce that GoGoVerde has been selected as a semifinalist in the Clean Tech Open in the Air, Water, and Waste category. The judges liked our holistic, community approach to sustainability. As a semifinalist, GoGoVerde will receive business mentoring from some of the world's best entreprenuers and sustainability experts. It's also a great opportunity for us to set up partnerships with other green businesses.
May 30th, 2009: GoGoVerde Beta Launch
GoGoVerde went live today at www.gogoverde.com. The Beta communities who have been eagerly awaiting the launch are now able to start their communities, invite members to join, and begin sharing. The Beta communities will provide valuable feedback as we continue to improve the features of GoGoVerde for helping local neighborhoods connect, share, and live a more sustainable lifestyle.
April 25th, 2009: GoGoVerde Previewed at Belmont Earth Day
GoGoVerde joined dozens of other exhibitors at Belmont Earth Day in Belmont, California. The event was to teach people about sustainable living and to showcase innovations. The GoGoVerde team gave hands-on demonstrations to dozens of participants from local neighborhoods, city and county government, and community supported agriculture organizations. We heard a lot of interest in our Beta launch.
